Alvin’s whereabouts are considerably predictable: you would likely find him at a mah-jong table, at the bowling alley, at home (usually asleep), or anywhere there is good food. Year-round, he spends more time mooting than preparing for seminars. Not apparent from the photograph, he is friendly. Do say hi if you do bump into him! (Tip: To be sure it’s Alvin, check that the suspect is wearing shorts – even in Winter.) After graduation, he will return to dreadfully-sunny Singapore to train as an Advocate & Solicitor.

Alvin co-founded our Law Review in 2015, serving then as the House Style Editor. He now co-leads the editorial board with Zi Xin. Firm advocate of the plain English movement, Alvin counts convoluted and impenetrable writings as his leading pet peeve.

Zi Xin is a Hodgson scholar currently enrolled in an LLM programme, specialising in Medical Law. She has a keen interest in global health decision-making' and is planning to undertake a PhD in that area. You will find Zi Xin spending more time cooking than anything else. She enjoys throwing dinner parties at her place because for her "good food + good friends = good times". Apart from cooking, Zi Xin enjoys all kinds of sports especially squash, hiking and running. The biggest motivation for Zi Xin to work out consistently (at least twice every day) is so that she can "refuel" afterward with more good food. Zi Xin encourages all students to take part in the Law Review as she believes that 'knowledge is power but only when shared, and enthusiasm pulls the switch.

Samuel is a second year law student. He enjoys the thrill of participating in mooting competitions. He's a firm believer in never giving up. In fact, he flopped his first interview of the year by answering 'yum yum' to a question. But his perseverance finally paid off with recently clinching a placement in shipping law. Outside school, he enjoys rock climbing and photography. Samuel hopes to practice as a lawyer in shipping, litigation, arbitration or commercial law in the near future.

Corinne is a final year law student, particularly interested in commercial, international economic, and corporate insolvency law. She loves to travel, relax, and spend time with her dog. After graduation, Corinne is returning to the Isle of Man, to commence work at the world’s leading supplier of online gaming software.

Niamh is a second year LLB Law and Spanish student from Ireland.

Katrina is currently studying for her Masters in law and will commence a PhD and GTA Studentship at the University of Liverpool in September 2017. Her academic interests lie in medical law, criminal law and children's rights and she hopes to influence policy change in these areas in the future.

Gemma is a penultimate year law student, wishing to start her Ma​sters in 2018. She has a keen interest in commercial and international law. Aside from academics, Gemma has a love for figure skating and travelling. She hopes to combine her passions to pursue a career in an international law firm.

Angelina is a Third Year LLB undergraduate with a particular interest in Company and Commercial Law. She will be headed back to Singapore to complete her legal training after graduation, in hopes of passing the Singapore Bar in due course. Angelina started University with an overwhelming fear of public speaking, and thus chose to devote a great deal of time to competing in a variety of mooting and advocacy competitions so as to overcome that fear (it worked!). Aside from academics, Angelina loves to hit the gym, sing, and write music in her spare time.

Nayeem is a Commonwealth Scholar currently taking the University's LLM programme, specialising in Human Rights Law.
